Internet car buying scams

This one seems to consist of an email apparently coming from a businessman in South Africa who offers to buy your car and offers to send a cheque.

They then ask you to ship the car over and pay the shipper out of the cheque which will apparently clear in a few days.

Here is some correspondence from one of our advertisers and the would be buyer.

thanks for the reply,i will like to tell you that the shipper will be coming over as soon as the balance is send to them, and i will like to tell you that the only way is by sending you a check and the check is going to take you just 2 to 3 days to clear in the bank and as soon as the check is clear just tell the bank to call you so that you can send the balance to my shipper that will come over to pick up the car to my head office,so just send the information that i will used to send the check to you that is the name,address,and the phone number of the person the check will be send to. The quickest way to get money to the uk is by bank transfer. Maybe you could send the money to your shipping agent who could then send me the money & then pick up the car.
